3D botox therapy: who it is for

Good candidates, contraindications, realistic expectations.

02 / 3D Therapy with Intensive Botox and Filler Effect

The ideal profile

The therapy is built for mature skin over 35 with fine expression lines, an early loss of facial contour, and reduced density. It works very well on normal and combination skin that tolerates actives. If you have dehydration and dryness alongside early lines, you will see an effect by the end of the session, the peptides bind water in the epidermis and the skin looks taut right away. The softening of expression contraction is a pleasant surprise after the very first session, especially for desk workers with built-up tension across the forehead. Skin around 40 with the first signs of "fatigue", a slack jawline contour, a dulled tone, fine lines, is the most rewarding profile. For very dry skin over 50 or zones with deep folds we often pair the 3D protocol with the Intensive Anti-Aging Lift Therapy, but we decide that during a diagnostic consultation. It also suits younger clients around 30 with pronounced expression lines, particularly on the forehead and around the eyes, where the skin is thinner and responds quickly to botox-mimetic peptides. For maintenance ahead of important events (a wedding, photoshoot, big meeting) this is among our first recommendations because the result is visible and gradual. Typical profile: a 38-45 year-old with desk work who notices lines between the brows after a long screen day; for her the course delivers visible lifting by the second session.

When to postpone

We do not perform the therapy during pregnancy or breastfeeding, on open wounds, active infections, an early-stage cold sore, or active skin diseases (eczema, psoriasis in flare-up). An allergy to botulinum-mimetic peptides is also a reason to switch protocols. If you have just had laser, microneedling, or a deep peel, wait at least 14 days, the skin already has open channels and the peptides may trigger a stronger reaction than expected. The same applies after a fresh sunburn, wait at least 10-14 days. Chronic use of topical steroids on the face thins the skin and is another reason to consult a doctor first. During the reactive phase of your cycle (the 3 days around and after ovulation) the skin often feels more sensitive, schedule outside those days if you can. For skin with diagnosed rosacea see our dedicated rosacea protocol, it is built exactly for that profile. After injectable botox, wait 14 days and check with your doctor; the peptide signal and the toxin's neurological action should not overlap in the early phase. If you are currently on strong actives at home (tretinoin, high-strength retinol), pause them 5 days before the procedure so they do not trigger a flare reaction. Before the first session we run a 24-hour patch test behind the ear if you have an allergy history, that avoids surprises. We also skip a session if you are running a fever or have flu or a viral infection, skin immunity reacts differently then and the result will not be the same.

Realistic expectations and next steps

Important: this is a cosmetic therapy with peptides and actives, not injectable botox. Do not expect muscle paralysis, expect plumper skin, softened expression lines, and a visible lifting effect that is maintained with a course of 4 to 6 sessions every 7-10 days. After the first session the effect is visible right away, but real accumulation shows after the 3rd session, that is when the skin is "trained" to hold moisture and respond better to the peptides. A standalone session before a big event also works: book 2-3 days ahead so the skin hits its peak. Home-care maintenance is critical, without peptide serum, SPF50, and a hydrating routine the effect fades within days. A shorter interval between sessions brings no extra benefit; a longer one breaks the cumulative effect. If you have never had professional therapies before, start with the Revitalizing Therapy and move to the 3D protocol after one session. Before booking, read what happens in the studio and line up the post-procedure plan. All professional therapies are in the protocols catalog; for lifting as a standalone concern, see the lifting and firmness page.

Who gets the best results

From our practice, three client profiles get the strongest result from 3D botox therapy. First: a woman aged 32-40 with early aging signs and an active home routine, for her, the cumulative course effect is most visible because the skin already works with actives and takes professional signals better. Second: a 40-50 year-old who has not had professional therapies before but has healthy, well-maintained skin, for her the first session often delivers a surprisingly strong effect because there is no built-up resistance. Third: a client over 50 with specific concerns (loss of density, uneven tone, fine lines), for her we work in a long course and pair with other protocols; the accumulated improvement over 3-4 months is significant. Who does not get the strongest result: women who try a single session just to test without home follow-up, or clients with a very thin barrier from aggressive home actives, for those we first restore, then stimulate. If you recognise yourself in the first three profiles, your chances of a real result are very high. If you recognise yourself in the fourth, say so at the consultation and we will start with a gentler protocol that prepares the skin for sharper sessions later. For the full candidate profile see the who-it-is-for article.

Is it for you? Self-assessment

Before booking 3D botox therapy, run through this short list. If you answer yes to at least 3 of 5, your chances of a real result are high. First: do you have at least one of the concerns this therapy specifically addresses (see the Ideal Profile section)? Second: does your skin tolerate active ingredients at home (retinol, acids, vitamin C) without a significant reaction? Third: do you have a daily routine in place with cleansing, serum, cream, and SPF50? Without that last one, the therapy will lose part of its effect. Fourth: can you commit to a course of at least 4 sessions over 6-8 weeks? A single session gives an initial effect, but real change comes from accumulation. Fifth: are you ready to add or maintain home care with the recommended products for at least 4 weeks after each session? If the answer is yes to most, book. If yes to 1-2, book a consultation first; we will recommend a better start or discuss how to prep the skin for this therapy. If no to most, there is a more suitable protocol for you, and at the consultation we will find it together. For the in-salon walkthrough see the procedure article.

What we do not promise

Honestly, 3D botox therapy will not do everything. It will not remove deep structural wrinkles, those need a dermal filler or a surgical approach. It will not clear persistent dermal pigmentation (chloasma, melasma), those need specialised medical care and often a combination of mesotherapy and medication. It will not erase acne scars, for those we work in a course with collagen-stimulating protocols over months. It will not prevent future aging or stop time, it works with the current state of your skin, not your genetics. It will not deliver a result that holds for 6 months from a single session, without maintenance, the effect fades gradually. What it does is real and measurable: improved texture, plumper and brighter skin, visibly evened tone, softened fine lines, and a younger-looking contour for a defined period. We find it more important to describe exactly what you will get than to over-promise and disappoint. If you have goals that do not fit this therapy, we will tell you at the consultation and direct you to the protocol with the best chance of delivering what you are looking for. A comparative overview of all our protocols is in the catalog.

Compared with alternative protocols

We often get asked how 3D botox therapy compares with our other therapies. Compared with eye-lip lifting therapy this therapy fits a specific skin profile and a specific goal better. The two therapies are not interchangeable, they work on different mechanisms and we often combine them in one course for a fuller effect. The choice depends on three factors: your goal (glow, rejuvenation, lifting, tone evening), your skin type (normal, dry, oily, sensitive), and your skin history (have you had professional therapies before, do you use actives at home). At the consultation we review these three factors and propose a specific plan, often a combination of 2-3 therapies in a course that work synergistically. We do not recommend a one-size-fits-all therapy, results are much better when the protocol is specifically chosen. If you have had professional sessions before and know how your skin reacts to actives, say so, it speeds up the choice and often lets us start with a sharper plan from the start. See our full protocols catalog for a detailed comparison between therapies.

Frequently asked questions

From what age does it make sense?

Over 30 if you have pronounced expression lines, and over 35 for the classic profile. We rarely recommend it under 30, at that age, antioxidant and hydrating protocols usually work better.

Can I do it regularly?

Yes. We recommend a course of 4-6 sessions every 7-10 days, then monthly maintenance. The effect accumulates and the skin gradually looks plumper, not just for the days right after the session.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Only if your skin already tolerates active serums. For diagnosed rosacea or active flare-up choose the dedicated sensitive-skin protocol. Before your first session it is wise to patch-test a small zone.
