Acid, enzyme, or a lotion for home
Acid peels work with AHA, BHA and PHA and are for a treatment in the salon, with a protocol and with neutralisation: Anti Aging Skin Peel 15% AHA/PHA, Herbalistic Peel 20% AHA/PHA, Acne Treat Skin Peel 12% and PRO AHA Pigment Corrector Peel 12%. The enzyme peel gel is gentler and suits skin that does not take acids.
For home there are the exfoliating lotions, one acid each: 2% BHA for congested pores, 10% azelaic acid for redness and marks, 5% vitamin C for tone. The detail on strength and pH is in AHA acids: a full guide to chemical peeling.
Before and after the peel
The skin is prepared with Balancing Pre-Peel, which evens out the pH before the acid, and after the treatment it is neutralised and calmed. Between treatments sun protection is not optional: freshly exfoliated skin burns more easily and pigments.

Frequently asked questions
How often is a peel done?
In the salon usually every two to four weeks, depending on the strength of the peel and how the skin responds. The exfoliating lotions for home are for one to three times a week, in the evening.
What is the difference between an acid and an enzyme peel?
An acid peel breaks the bonds between dead cells and works deeper, which is why it needs neutralising and a protocol. An enzyme peel works closer to the surface and suits sensitive skin and a first time.
Can a peel be done in summer?
It can, at a lower strength and with sun protection every day without exception. Freshly exfoliated skin pigments more easily, so the strong acids are left for the months without strong sun.
