02 / DMS Therapy with Exosomes and Phospholipids "Cellular Awakening"
The ideal profile
Suited to mature skin over 35 with signs of fatigue, loss of elasticity, and uneven tone. Also works for younger skin around 25-30 that wants prevention and glow. We especially recommend it if your skin does not handle AHAs well or if you have dry, sensitive cheek areas. A concrete profile we often see: a 42-year-old whose skin becomes reactive after every seasonal shift and gets redness from standard peels, for her, enzymatic exfoliation works without irritating the barrier. It also fits people on chronic medications that raise photosensitivity, our gentle enzymatic stimulation does not open channels in the epidermis and does not push UV sensitivity higher. Also suitable for pregnant (after the first trimester) and breastfeeding mothers, because there is no peel and the actives have a proven safety profile. For business women with no downtime, one of our first recommendations because there are no visible signs after the session. If you want sharper resurfacing, see the DMS with AHA peel; if you need RF, look at ExoFusion RF. This therapy also suits clients who often wear makeup and cannot afford downtime, the combo of gentleness + visible result fits business women and frequent travellers.
When to postpone
We do not perform the therapy during pregnancy or breastfeeding, on open wounds, active infections, or eczema/psoriasis in flare-up. Allergy to exosomes or phospholipids is a contraindication. Active photosensitivity, yes, wait. After a recent deep peel, laser, or microneedling, wait at least 14 days. Active viral infection (flu, cold, COVID), wait until you are fully recovered, since skin immunity reacts differently when you are unwell. Under high stress load (an exam, a hard deadline) the therapy does not show as visibly, stress hormones slow the cellular response; if you can choose, wait until the peak passes. With a fever or cold-like symptoms, postpone the session until full recovery. Skin with active-phase rosacea will get more out of our dedicated sensitive-skin therapy. If you are allergic to papain or bromelain the enzyme mask is a no-go, we switch to an alternative protocol with a cold application. After injectable botox or filler, wait 7 days. Active oncology treatment is not a contraindication in itself, but requires approval from the treating doctor, especially if you are on medication that raises photosensitivity.
Expectations and place in the course
A single session delivers glow and comfort for about 10-14 days. For real rejuvenation we work in a course, 4-6 sessions every 14 days, then monthly maintenance. We often alternate it with a sharper protocol like the 3D or DMS with AHA so you get resurfacing and repair. After the first session expect glow and comfort; after the third, noticeably improved texture and density; after the full course, more even tone, denser skin, and a visible drop in seasonal reactivity. This therapy does NOT erase deep wrinkles or remove dermal pigmentation, for those, we talk about other protocols. At home add a hyaluronic acid serum and SPF50 daily. Before booking, read what happens in the salon and the home-care plan. This therapy works especially well as a "first step" toward a DMS course, we test how the skin takes the exosomes and phospholipids before moving to a sharper AHA-based protocol. Year-round work because there is no peel, it fits every season. The full catalog: all protocols. For ongoing care, see the sensitive-skin concern page.
Is it for you? Self-assessment
Before booking dMS cellular awakening, run through this short list. If you answer yes to at least 3 of 5, your chances of a real result are high. First: do you have at least one of the concerns this therapy specifically addresses (see the Ideal Profile section)? Second: does your skin tolerate active ingredients at home (retinol, acids, vitamin C) without a significant reaction? Third: do you have a daily routine in place with cleansing, serum, cream, and SPF50? Without that last one, the therapy will lose part of its effect. Fourth: can you commit to a course of at least 4 sessions over 6-8 weeks? A single session gives an initial effect, but real change comes from accumulation. Fifth: are you ready to add or maintain home care with the recommended products for at least 4 weeks after each session? If the answer is yes to most, book. If yes to 1-2, book a consultation first; we will recommend a better start or discuss how to prep the skin for this therapy. If no to most, there is a more suitable protocol for you, and at the consultation we will find it together. For the in-salon walkthrough see the procedure article.
Compared with alternative protocols
We often get asked how dMS cellular awakening compares with our other therapies. Compared with dMS exosome therapy this therapy fits a specific skin profile and a specific goal better. The two therapies are not interchangeable, they work on different mechanisms and we often combine them in one course for a fuller effect. The choice depends on three factors: your goal (glow, rejuvenation, lifting, tone evening), your skin type (normal, dry, oily, sensitive), and your skin history (have you had professional therapies before, do you use actives at home). At the consultation we review these three factors and propose a specific plan, often a combination of 2-3 therapies in a course that work synergistically. We do not recommend a one-size-fits-all therapy, results are much better when the protocol is specifically chosen. If you have had professional sessions before and know how your skin reacts to actives, say so, it speeds up the choice and often lets us start with a sharper plan from the start. See our full protocols catalog for a detailed comparison between therapies.
Who gets the best results
From our practice, three client profiles get the strongest result from dMS cellular awakening. First: a woman aged 32-40 with early aging signs and an active home routine, for her, the cumulative course effect is most visible because the skin already works with actives and takes professional signals better. Second: a 40-50 year-old who has not had professional therapies before but has healthy, well-maintained skin, for her the first session often delivers a surprisingly strong effect because there is no built-up resistance. Third: a client over 50 with specific concerns (loss of density, uneven tone, fine lines), for her we work in a long course and pair with other protocols; the accumulated improvement over 3-4 months is significant. Who does not get the strongest result: women who try a single session just to test without home follow-up, or clients with a very thin barrier from aggressive home actives, for those we first restore, then stimulate. If you recognise yourself in the first three profiles, your chances of a real result are very high. If you recognise yourself in the fourth, say so at the consultation and we will start with a gentler protocol that prepares the skin for sharper sessions later. For the full candidate profile see the who-it-is-for article.
Frequently asked questions
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes, provided there is no active rosacea or flare-up. It is one of our gentlest DMS protocols and we often recommend it for reactive skin.
Can I book it in spring or summer?
Yes, with strict SPF50. No AHAs are involved, so no post-procedure UV sensitivity.
How often can I book it?
Every 14 days as part of a course; monthly for maintenance. More often does not add benefit, the skin needs time to absorb between sessions.
