What Is Derma Membrane Structure (DMS)?
Derma Membrane Structure (DMS) refers to a class of lamellar lipid systems that reproduce the natural organization of lipids in the stratum corneum. Instead of classic oil-in-water emulsions, DMS builds multilamellar structures from ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids in ratios close to physiological ones.
These lamellar structures act as a “biomimetic scaffold” for the skin barrier - filling lipid deficits, maintaining optimal hydration and creating a matrix for controlled release of active ingredients.
